Ruffled Moss-Stitch Scarf

NOTE: I haven't sat down yet to "really" write down the pattern but here is a start:

Begin the scarf:
  • Provisional Cast On: holding your contrasting color, cast on 27 stitches. Begin knitting with the main color for the rest of the project.
  • Row 1: knit, purl, knit, purl, to end of row.
  • Row 2: knit, purl, knit, purl, to end of row.
  • Repeat rows to create the moss-stitch until you have knitted about half the length of the scarf.

Make the ruffle:
  • Row 1: Knit into front and back of first stitch, purl into front and back of second stitch. Continue alternating for the entire row.
  • Row 2 and 3: Continue in moss-stitch pattern.
  • Repeat Rows 1-3 again, binding off on Row 3.

Continue and complete the scarf:
  • Pick up stitches from the provisional cast on and drop the contrasting color.
  • Continue knitting the rest of the scarf with the moss-stitch and finish by making another ruffle.
  • Sew in all loose strands and done!
